"Welcome to Burywood."

―The Senator welcomes several members into Burywood.

Blake Philip (more commonly known as his title "The Senator") is a main character and a survivor of the outbreak in The Walking Dead HGRP Edition. He serves as a protagonist during Season 4, leading a group of survivors in a town called Burywood.

Pre-Apocalypse

Before the apocalypse, the Senator was a politician who had run for office. It is unknown if he was ever elected for anything major. He married Miranda Smith, having a daughter with her named Penny Philip.

Post-Apocalypse

Blake Philip was originally living in Miami, Florida, as the Outbreak began. During the apocalypse, Blake lost his wife Miranda to Miami Cultists, who drowned her, seeing her as an ideal sacrifice for Yuri. Blake was enraged by the acts of the cultists, failing to start a civil war in Miami and ending up being captured.

His daughter was threatened to be drowned next due to Blake's actions, though when hearing this, he managed to escape captivity, grabbing his daughter and jumping off a pier into the Atlantic Ocean. Although the Cultists thought him to be dead, Blake and Penny survived, where they travelled inland, eventually stumbling onto Burywood, Florida.

It was there he found a group of survivors who had a poor leader. Blake convinced the others of the leader's poor fit, exiling him from Burywood as Blake became the new leader, taking the title of "The Senator." He established order and obediance in Burywood, turning it into a functioning community.

Season 4

The Senator first appears in Season 4, when a group consisting of Trix, Matthias, Nicholas, Selena, Brock, and Edward, arrive at Burywood. Blake welcomes the group, allowing them to live in his community.

Personality

Blake was a calm, cool, level-headed individual who didn't lose his mind easily. He was charming and convincing, managing to woo Burywood into thinking him of an authority.

Appearance

Blake was a tall, good looking dude in his mid thirties. He had shaggy brown hair and a stubble beard, giving him the rugged woodsman look. 

Abilities

• Leadership: Blake was able to successfully lead and govern a larger group of survivors without any problems at all.

Weapons and Items

• Unknown Firearm: Like any Burywood survivor, Blake carried a gun on him for protection.

Relationships

Penelope Philip

Penny was the daughter and only child of Blake, whom Blake deeply cared for. After the death of his wife Miranda, Blake became extremely protective of Penny, making sure he was with Penny at all times. 

Miranda Philip

Blake loved Miranda, being affectionate and caring for his wife. He treated her like royalty, and was devastated when she was suddenly killed by Miami Cultists.
